Qualification development specialists and regulated awarding body SFJ Awards have launched a new qualification in team leading. Launched on 1 January 2025, the new Level 3 Certificate in Team Leading replaces the previous qualification under the same name, which had been live since August 2019.
The objective of this new team leading qualification is to develop the knowledge and skills of those who are working as team leaders and those working in a range of other team leader positions. This qualification is suitable to people who are entering management and is particularly applicable to those working as police support staff as well as crew managers and support staff within the fire service.
As part of our rigorous qualification development process, we regularly review and update our qualifications to maintain their relevance and positive benefit to learners. Within this process, we ensure our qualifications remain fit for purpose, reflecting current industry standards and evolving role requirements.
A working group of industry professionals collaborated with us on the update of this qualification, including John McNally of Staffordshire Police.
