Level 1, 2 Creative Thoughtfulness

About the qualification

Qualification Number: See details

This suite of qualifications relating to ‘creative thoughtfulness’ has been developed by SFJ Awards in partnership with the charity, Kissing it Better.  Kissing it Better aims to harness the energy of the most dynamic groups in a local community to make a difference to the care of patients and their carers within a range of environments including hospitals, hospices, care homes, rehabilitation and day care centres.  The principles can also be applied to those caring for individuals in their own home.  This involves tackling the small things – the ‘creative thoughtfulness’ – that can have a fundamental effect on everyone to improve morale, motivation and therefore enhance the experience of those within the health or care environment.

The Awards are aimed principally at volunteers and are particularly suitable for young people, such as those involved in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.  However as the qualifications include the development of many transferable ‘soft’ skills (e.g. caring, consideration, respect, communication) they are also suitable for:

  • Schools, colleges, universities and training providers wishing to develop their learner’s life/soft skills whilst preparing them for work or a volunteering role
  • Medical and care organisations wishing to develop their team’s soft skills, or their understanding of volunteers and volunteering in health and care environments.
