Today the private security sector across the UK employs over half a million people, and the industry contributes an estimated £7 billion to the economy. Security has never been higher on the country’s agenda. The industry touches almost every aspect of our day-to-day lives, and there has never been a more vital time to support the growth of our future security workforce.
Following the acquisition of Industry Qualifications in March 2020, we are pleased to announce our expanded suite of security qualifications is now available, which includes a broad range of roles, across numerous security practices and settings in the UK.
Whether public or private, there is virtually no organisation where security, or risk management is not a vital consideration to business in one way or another. The complex and specialist nature of the products and services the sector creates to tackle threats to both individuals and communities in the world today, demands a diverse, professional, and dependable workforce to protect our people, property, assets, and operations.
As the pace of growth in security within society and throughout businesses increases, we are proud to be able to provide crucial support to not only meet the needs of the sector but offer centres more flexibility in the provision of qualifications they deliver. Working in collaboration with regulators, sector and government bodies, law enforcement, and the security industry, our qualifications are built and developed by our dedicated team of sector experts and backed by the integrity of our assessment processes. Our security specialists have years of experience of both UK and international standards and have a deep understanding on the needs of security provision, corporate risk, and resilience.
Our comprehensive suite of nationally recognised security qualifications allows centres to develop programmes of learning which are relevant to individual learner’s requirements. They are fully endorsed by the Security Industry Authority (SIA), and regulated by Ofqual (England), SQA (Scotland), DfES (Wales) and CCEA (Northern Ireland). Our portfolio provides the key knowledge and skills needed whether learners are looking to attain:
- Licence to Practice, in order to work within specific sectors regulated by the SIA
- Apprenticeship (National Vocational Qualification) to help attain employment in spectator safety, or the provision of security services elsewhere in the sector other than those areas where a license to practice is required
- Regulated qualifications within the private security industry, which includes provision of private investigation, physical Intervention, conflict management and covert surveillance operations
Successful completion of our courses ensures learners are able to confidently demonstrate a clear commitment to the highest level of competence to gain trust of both customers and prospective employers, and moreover, help them further a career in the sector.
