What are the objectives for the Level 3 Certificate for Operational Firefighting Qualification?
The objective of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to carry out the role of an operational firefighter whether they are an on-call firefighter or whole-time firefighter. The qualification has been mapped to the Operational Firefighter apprenticeship standard and provides learners who are unable to complete the apprenticeship with the opportunity to receive recognition of the knowledge and skills gained through their training.
What are the pre-entry requirements for the Level 3 Certificate for Operational Firefighting Qualification?
To undertake this qualification learners will need to be working as a firefighter or working in the fire and rescue service. Centres must also ensure that learners are able to complete this qualification, for example, through completing a skills scan to ensure they can work at the appropriate level.
