What are the objectives for the Level 2 Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry Qualification?
The main objective of this qualification is to provide learners with the opportunity to update their knowledge, skills and understanding required to work as a close protection operative in the private security industry.
It is a requirement by the SIA that individuals working as a close protection operative renew their SIA licence every three years. The qualification has been developed for learners who currently hold a valid SIA licence to work as a close protection operative that will expire on or after 1st October 2022.

This qualification is being withdrawn and therefore no further learners can be registered after 31st October 2025. All certifications of learners already registered on the qualification must be complete by 31st January 2026. This qualification is being replaced by the SFJ Awards Level 2 Award for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry (Refresher) (further information to follow).
