SFJ Awards sponsor and attend 2025 NFCC Apprenticeship Awards

To kick of National Apprenticeship Week this year, our team were delighted to attend the National Fire Chiefs Council’s Apprenticeship Awards.

The event took place at Plaisterers Hall in London and was a fantastic evening celebrating outstanding apprentices and related organisations across seven award categories. The categories included:

  • Apprentice of the Year – Operational Apprentice of the Year and Non Operational Apprentice of the Year
  • Non Operational Apprentice of the Year
  • Apprenticeship Provider of the Year
  • Excellence in Apprenticeship Support
  • Inclusion Champion Award
  • Outstanding Apprenticeship Project
  • Apprenticeship Champion Award

In attendance from our team were David Higham, Managing Director, Kit Salt, Head of Assessment, Andy Costello, Qualifications and Assessment Product Manager, and Lee Chevin, EPA Internal Quality Assurance Officer (Fire and Rescue). Discussing his experience at the awards, David said:

“It was a great evening. It was brilliant to see apprentices being recognised for going above and beyond in their roles. It was also amazing to see the pride on the faces of their mentors and other fire service employees.

“These awards truly spotlight the power apprenticeships can have not only on helping to develop the public sector workforce as a whole, but also the incredible impact they can have on individual lives.”

Kit added:

“It was wonderful to have the opportunity to talk to the apprentices and hear about each of their individual journeys, particularly as the event brought together a mix of apprentices from across the fire service, not just Operational Firefighter apprentices. Well done to all involved.”

All our attendees were honoured to be a part of celebrating the success of apprentices and the people who work to provide this vital route into fire and rescue workforce.

SFJ Awards were proud to be sponsors of these awards which highlight the importance of apprenticeships for public sector roles. SFJ Awards are a leading End-Point Assessment Organisation for fire and rescue apprenticeships, and amongst celebrating the award winners it was a great chance to connect with our partners across the sector.
