What are the objectives for the Level 2 Award for Industrial Cyber Security – Threat Awareness?

The objective of this qualification is to provide individuals working across a range of industrial environments with the foundational knowledge required to recognise, understand, and respond to cyber security threats. As a knowledge-based qualification, it is specifically developed to establish a clear baseline of cyber security awareness and understanding, enabling learners to engage confidently with key concepts, principles, and terminology relevant to industrial contexts.

This qualification develops understanding of core cyber security principles, common vulnerabilities, and the motivations of threat actors targeting industrial systems. It also promotes best practices in risk mitigation, incident response, and secure working – both on-site and remotely. It is designed to support the development of a cyber-aware workforce capable of enhancing organisational resilience across industrial sectors.

What are the pre-entry requirements for the Level 2 Award for Industrial Cyber Security – Threat Awareness?

There are no pre-entry requirements for this qualification. However, centres must ensure that learners are able to complete this qualification, for example, through completing a skills scan to ensure they can work at the appropriate level.
