About the role
SFJ Awards is seeking sector‑experienced professionals to join our Quality & Standards Committee (QSC). As an awarding organisation supporting critical public safety and protection sectors, we are committed to ensuring that our qualifications are high‑quality, credible, and trusted.
The QSC plays a vital governance role, providing independent oversight of our qualification, assessment, and certification processes, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements across the UK.
Who we’re looking for
We are particularly interested in volunteers with experience in one of the following areas:
- Assessment, accreditation, and/or awarding organisation quality assurance
- Fire and rescue
- Policing, probation, or offender management
- Security (including SIA‑regulated provision)
You will bring professional credibility, independence, and a commitment to maintaining excellence in qualification quality and standards.
Time commitment
- Quarterly committee meetings (virtual)
- Occasional additional meetings or reviews where required
- Pre‑reading of papers and evidence (supplied in advance)
Appointment terms
Three-year term (renewal once)
