What are the objectives for the SFJ Awards Level 2 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security Awareness?

This new qualification is being developed by SFJ Awards to provide terrorism protection awareness for staff working in, or supporting, venues, sites and organisations. It is designed to help learners contribute to organisational preparedness by understanding the terrorism threat context, recognising common attack methods, understanding the key requirements of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 at an awareness level, maintaining vigilance and reporting concerns appropriately, and understanding immediate response actions. It supports staff to play an effective “internal champion” role by providing timely observations and information to the responsible person and/or colleagues with more formal counter-terrorism and protective security responsibilities.

What are the pre-entry requirements for the SFJ Awards Level 2 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security Awareness?

There are no formal pre-entry requirements for this qualification. Centres must ensure learners have sufficient literacy and communication skills to engage with learning and complete the multiple-choice assessment.
