What are the objectives for the Level 2 Carrying Out Fire Safety Checks Qualification?
The objective of this qualification is to provide the knowledge and skills to a range of individuals who have responsibility for undertaking fire safety checks. The qualification is aimed at those within Fire and Rescue Services who are required to identify and report on fire safety issues as part of their role i.e. checking a fire risk assessment is in place and identifying and escalating any fire safety issues.
The aim of a Fire Safety Check is to minimise risk in residential and/or workplaces. Premises subject to fire safety checks covered by this qualification exclude single private dwellings, which are covered by Home Fire Safety Visits.
Those undertaking fire safety checks should identify and report issues and outcomes to specialist fire safety personnel where appropriate.
What are the pre-entry requirements for the Level 2 Award in Carrying Out Fire Safety Checks?
There are no pre-entry requirements for this qualification. However centres must ensure that learners are able to complete this qualification, for example, through completing a skills scan to ensure they can work at the appropriate level.
