The main objective of this qualification is to provide the underpinning knowledge for those who work, or are intending to work, in a role which requires them to engage formally and informally with community partners in neighbourhood management. This qualification could therefore be suitable for those working, or preparing to work, in the police service (for example police staff, police officers and police community support officers), social services, neighbourhood watch or community safety.

Qualification Withdrawal

This qualification is being withdrawn and therefore no further learners can be registered after 30th June 2024. All certifications of learners already registered on the qualification must be complete by 30th June 2025. SFJ Awards Level 5 Award in Neighbourhood and Community Planning

Total Qualification Time: 100 hours
Guided Learning: 45 hours

The main objective of this qualification is to provide learners with the skills to be able to develop, implement and evaluate neighbourhood and community plans. It is likely to be suitable for those whose job or community role involves managing neighbourhood teams. Job areas for those eligible could include senior police officers, senior police staff, police community support officers, social services, neighbourhood watch and community safety.


What are the pre-entry requirements for the Neighbourhood Management and Planning Awards?

There are no pre-entry requirements for enrolling to complete these qualifications. However, learners wishing to undertake the Level 5 Award in Neighbourhood and Community Planning will need to be working in a role which allows them to develop and evidence their skills in neighbourhood and/or community work.
