What are the objectives of the Level 3 Award in Commissioning, Servicing and Maintaining Sprinkler Systems?
The main objective of this qualification is to provide individuals with the practical skills, technical knowledge and understanding to commission, service and maintain residential and/or commercial sprinkler systems.
This qualification has been designed to meet the needs of individuals who work, or intend to work, in a position where they are involved in commissioning, servicing and maintaining residential and/or commercial sprinkler systems.
It will also be appropriate for building control officers, approved inspectors, fire engineers, fire safety auditors, inspectors, fire risk assessors, insurance assessors, managers, surveyors, architects and fire safety professionals i.e. those who have the responsibility for specifying, assessing, auditing or regulating residential and/or commercial sprinkler systems.
This qualification is made up of two pathways. Units 1 and 2 are mandatory for both pathways. Learners then select either the residential or commercial sprinkler pathway and must complete the units for their chosen pathway. The pathways and units are:
- Residential Sprinkler Systems Pathway:
- Identify requirements for sprinkler systems
- Identify requirements for commissioning, servicing and maintaining sprinkler systems
- Commission residential sprinkler systems
- Handover residential sprinkler systems to customers
- Service and maintain residential sprinkler systems
- Commercial Sprinkler Systems Pathway:
- Identify requirements for sprinkler systems
- Identify requirements for commissioning, servicing and maintaining sprinkler systems
- Commission commercial sprinkler systems
- Handover commercial sprinkler systems to customers
- Service and maintain commercial sprinkler systems
