Ofqual publishes 2024 End-Point Assessment guide for apprentices

The Office of Qualifications and Examination Regulations (Ofqual) recently released the End-Point Assessment Guide for apprentices in 2024.

This guide is designed to inform apprentices about what to expect during an Ofqual-regulated End-Point Assessment (EPA). EPA is an independent assessment which is carried out at the end of an apprenticeship. It is used to assess the knowledge, skills, and behaviours the apprentice has acquired throughout the course of their apprenticeship programme. Passing the EPA is essential for apprentices to complete their apprenticeship successfully.

The key areas covered in Ofqual’s guide are:

  • Tips to help apprentices prepare for EPA
  • What to expect during EPA
  • Additional support for apprentices
  • What happens after EPA
  • Guidance on resits and retakes
  • Mental health support
