South Wales Fire & Rescue Service

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service collaborates with SFJ Awards to offer a range of qualifications, including Incident Command levels 3, 4, 6, and 7, as well as specialised instructor certifications related to Bariatric, RTC, and BA. This partnership has enabled the service to develop and introduce accredited qualifications customised to address the unique requirements of wildfire management, encompassing qualifications for Wildfire Burn Operators, Planners, and proficiency in operating associated equipment like Brush Cutters, Leaf Blowers, and ATV driving.

“A series of wildfire incidents in recent years provides a stark reminder of the danger that they pose to lives, livelihoods and the natural environment. “The development of specialist wildfire training will help to equip more and more firefighters with the fire suppression skills needed to tackle wildfires and minimise their threat to our communities. “SFJ Awards is proud to support South Wales Fire and Rescue Service’s pioneering work in this area, which will provide a platform to upskilling fire and rescue services across the UK.”
