In April 2018 the Contact Handler – Emergency Services & NHS Integrated Urgent Care Apprenticeship Standard was approved for delivery by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE). The development of the standard was led by Thames Valley Police and an Employer Group which included a wide range of emergency service organisations.
As an approved Independent End-Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO) for a number of Apprenticeship Standards, we’re pleased to announce the launch of our Emergency Service Contact Handling End-Point Assessment (EPA) service for this standard.
No matter what type, or size of organisation the Apprentice is working in, whether it be Police, Fire, Ambulance Service or NHS Integrated Urgent Care, the key knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be competent in this role will be the same.
The Contact Handler Apprenticeship programme is for those over the age of 18 and is a Level 3 apprenticeship standard which lasts for a minimum of twelve months. The Apprentice is assigned a suitable role and receives on-programme supported training where they learn the knowledge, skills and behaviours set out in the apprenticeship standard whilst doing the job. Through regular progress reviews the Apprentice, their employer and/or their training provider will ensure they have collated sufficient evidence and experience as well as completed practice assessment in readiness for the EPA.
At SFJ Awards we pride ourselves on being customer focused. This combined with our sector expertise and assessment experience, ensures that we can fully support employers and training providers navigate their way through the EPA process. Such work has already commenced with organisations such as the Thames Valley Police and Northumbria Police with more in the pipeline.
Our EPA service includes the provision of support materials including; handbooks, guides, document templates and sample assessments, where applicable. At SFJ Awards our ethos is to provide a high-quality service at a fair price and our online portal makes registering, tracking and booking assessments simple.
