Objective: These qualifications are aimed at learners interested in the work of the fire and rescue services. They provide an opportunity for young people to gain an insight into the work of the fire and rescue services, and progress to further vocational qualifications for the public services.

These qualifications are updated versions of, and will replace, the existing SFJ Awards Level 2 Award and Certificate in Fire and Rescue Services in the Community.

Qualification withdrawals

The SFJ Awards Level 2 Award in Fire and Rescue Services in the Community (Qualification Number 601/0787/X) and the SFJ Awards Level 2 Certificate in Fire and Rescue Services in the Community (Qualification Number 601/0788/1) are being withdrawn and therefore no further learners can be registered after 31 October 2021. All certifications of learners already registered on the qualification must be complete by 31 October 2022.
