Professor Justin Johnston QFSM has joined the board of trustees of not-for-profit fire and rescue qualifications specialist SFJ Awards.
SFJ Awards is a nationally recognised and regulated awarding organisation that works extensively across fire and rescue service. Professor Johnston joins the organisation following a stellar career at Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, where he also served as Vice Chair of National Fire Chief’s Council.
The Queen’s Fire Medal Recipient will combine his role at SFJ Awards with a visiting Professorship at the University of Chester.
Professor Johnston joins, Dr Allison Jones (AEJ Education Consulting Ltd), Arvind Malhotra (FutureSense Group) and Keith Fraser (Youth Justice Board for England and Wales) as a member of the SFJ Awards board of trustees, which is chaired by NHS Shared Business Services Managing Director Erika Bannerman.
Welcoming Professor Justin Johnston’s appointment, SFJ Awards Managing Director David Higham said:
