GATR Assessment Centre

Since 1996, GATR contributed to the design & development of the UK National Occupational Standard and later assisted SFJ Awards to convert the components into the Level 5 Certificate (L5C) in Fire Investigation, assessment criteria. Since 2016, GATR has been offering experienced public and private sector practitioners, who undertake ‘Tier Two’ scene investigations, a streamlined and robust 4-stage assessment process aligned to the L5C. GATR also assisted SFJ Awards to develop the Level 2 (L2) Award in ‘Introduction’ to Fire Investigation and since 2019 has delivered training course options, for personnel who routinely carry out ‘Tier One’ scene investigations.

From its launch in 1996, GATR has continued to assemble the most experienced and knowledgeable multi-disciplined teams of current fire investigation practitioners who are the best in their field. By delivering SFJ Award qualifications, our aim is to provide the UK and European fire investigation community with a ‘best value’ range of training and assessment options. This will fulfil the requirements for efficient and effective fire investigators and teams.
