Chelsea Littleton-Harper joined the SFJ Awards team in 2020, with previous experience working with another awarding body. Chelsea joined the team as a Customer Service Officer, where she built a strong understanding of our customers, approved centres, and product portfolio. Since then she has progressed into product development in 2021 and has since become our Product Development Manager in October 2025.
Today, Chelsea leads the development, implementation, and ongoing management of SFJ Awards’ product portfolio. Her role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, ensuring qualifications, Apprenticeship Assessments, and custom certifications are high quality, compliant, and aligned with the needs of employers, learners, and regulators.
Reflecting on how her role has evolved, Chelsea explains:
“My role now involves much more strategic thinking alongside line management. I’m responsible not only for the quality and integrity of our products, but also for supporting and developing my team and ensuring our work genuinely meets the needs of the sectors we work within.”
A core focus of Chelsea’s work is delivering outcomes that matter to SFJ Awards’ approved centres and customers. This includes maintaining consistently high product quality, providing meaningful support to protective services organisations, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. To achieve this, Chelsea works closely with a wide range of audiences — including regulators, employers, strategic partners, internal leadership teams, and approved centres.
Chelsea has led several high-impact projects in recent years. She led the development of the Level 5 Diploma in Professional Policing Practice, designed to formally recognise the training and learning undertaken by individuals entering policing through the Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP). The qualification provides a structured and credible route that aligns professional learning with operational policing practice.
She also led the development of the Level 4 Certificate for Protective Security Advisers, created in collaboration with and endorsed by the Protective Security Centre (Home Office). This qualification is the first of its kind to be endorsed by all three of the government’s National Technical Authorities: the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA), the UK National Authority for Counter Eavesdropping (NACE), and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). The qualification represents a significant milestone in raising professional standards and recognition within the protective security sector.
Chelsea’s approach to product development is evidence-led, collaborative, employer-driven, and future-focused. She works closely with stakeholders to ensure products respond to real operational needs while remaining robust, compliant, and sustainable. Balancing innovation with regulatory and operational reality is central to her work, ensuring SFJ Awards’ products remain both progressive and trusted.
We asked Chelsea what she loves most about her role in the team at SFJ Awards, she added:
“In my role, what truly captivates me is the dynamic nature of product development. I love the constant challenge of balancing innovation with practicality, ensuring our offerings remain cutting-edge yet accessible. Collaborating across diverse teams fuels my passion – I thrive on the exchange of ideas and the collective effort to create solutions that truly impact our customers. Additionally, the opportunity to blend my insights from customer service with the intricacies of product development is immensely rewarding; it allows me to see the tangible effects of our work on both our company’s growth and the educational journeys of our learners. Ultimately, the ability to shape educational pathways and witness the direct influence our products have on learners’ success is what makes every day in this role incredibly fulfilling.”
We’re excited to see what Chelsea continues to do here at SFJ Awards. Want to find out more about how we can support your learning and development needs? Get in touch with Chelsea or another member of the SFJ Awards team.
