SFJ Awards is inviting feedback on the review of three Level 3 qualifications covering compartment fire behaviour training and tactical ventilation training.
As part of the review, the qualifications have been updated to ensure they remain current, relevant and aligned with current fire and rescue service practice.
The consultation covers:
- SFJ Awards Level 3 Award in Compartment Fire Behaviour Training
- SFJ Awards Level 3 Certificate in Compartment Fire Behaviour Training
- SFJ Awards Level 3 Award in Tactical Ventilation Training
Fire behaviour and ventilation are important elements of operational firefighting, requiring firefighters and instructors to understand how conditions within a compartment can develop and how different firefighting and ventilation tactics can affect those conditions.
Have your say
SFJ Awards welcomes feedback from those with relevant knowledge and experience. Whether you currently deliver, assess or quality assure these qualifications, work in fire and rescue service training, or have relevant operational experience, your feedback can help inform the review.
Your feedback will help us ensure the qualifications continue to reflect the needs of the sector and current fire and rescue service practice.
The consultation survey will be available from 5 October 2026 and will close on 19 October 2026.
