SFJ Awards Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)
The SFJ Awards Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) is aimed at individuals who intend to develop and gain formal recognition of their knowledge, understanding and skills of paediatric first aid. This qualification is appropriate for all individuals with responsibility for infants and/or children in any setting.
The qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of:
• Resuscitation Council (UK)
• Assessment Principles for Regulated First Aid Qualifications
• Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Through completing the two mandatory units, all learners will cover the essentials of paediatric first aid. This includes roles and responsibilities, incident/ patient assessment and the administration of paediatric first aid for unresponsiveness, choking, external bleeding, shock, bites, stings, minor injuries, injuries to bones, muscles and/ or joints, head injuries, spinal injuries, conditions affecting the eyes, ears and/ or nose, sudden illness, acute medical conditions, extremes of body temperature, electrical shock, burns, scalds, poisoning and anaphylaxis.
Qualification Withdrawal
This qualification is now being withdrawn. No further learners can be registered after 31 October 2022. All certifications of learners already registered on the qualification must be complete by 31 October 2023.
