About the Qualification

Qualification Number: 603/4951/7

This qualification is a work-based qualification and has been designed to accredit the knowledge and skills of learners who investigate, report and present evidence related to incidents involving fire and/or explosion.

To achieve this qualification. learners must achieve 22 credits from the 4 mandatory units as follows:

  1. Prepare to investigate an incident involving fire and/or explosion
  2. Investigate an incident involving fire and/or explosion
  3. Report on the investigation of incidents involving fire and/or explosion
  4. Present evidence related to fire investigations in court and at other hearings

The qualification is a replacement for 600/9032/7 (same title) and has been revised with slight amendments made.

Pre-entry Requirements

Learners who wish to undertake this qualification must be experienced fire investigation practitioners.  For more information, please see Section 2.2 Pre-entry Requirements in the qualification handbook, available on request.
