Plagiarism- the big “P” tips to look out for

The majority of learners take pride in completing their studies, take responsibility for their own learning, actively engage with the tasks set, keep to deadlines and take their learning seriously.  Nevertheless on occasion some learners may not do so.  Plagiarism, collusion and cheating undermines the integrity of any qualification.

Expressions of interest for independent end point assessors

SFJ Awards has been approved by the Education & Skills Funding Agency to deliver End Point Assessment for the Public Service Operational Delivery Officer apprenticeship standard with other applications in the pipeline. We are accepting expressions of interest from anyone interested in becoming an associate independent end point assessor with SFJ Awards.

Competence based qualifications allow great flexibility, allowing centres to choose their own suitable methods to assess learners. We are all steeped in the importance of formative and summative internal quality assurance checks, but pre-delivery internal quality assurance checks are a vital stage in planning and preparation for delivery.

Recent Standardisation Events

SFJ Awards recently held 4 Standardisation events in London, jointly facilitated by SFJ Awards Quality and Assessment Manager, Pam Hunt, and a relevant subject specialist External Quality Assurer.  The 4 events focussed on Community & Social Justice, Fire & Rescue, Learning & Development and Law Enforcement & Policing sectors.
