Further to our update issued on July 15, we’re pleased to announce that the supporting documentation for the Operational Firefighter EPA is now available.
We recently informed you that we’re awaiting final confirmation from the IfATE with regards to the achievement requirements for the professional discussion, so that the assessment is robust, consistent, valid, fair and transparent. We’re expecting confirmation imminently however, we felt that we couldn’t further delay the issue of these documents. Please note that these initial versions of the documents are marked up ‘in development’. When we’ve received the information, we will amend our documents and notify you of the changes.
Our guidance for apprentices and employer/training providers includes:
- • information on the EPA and the responsibilities of the different parties involved.
- • SFJ Awards’ approach to the EPA, including the changes to the plan that have been agreed with the Trailblazer Group and the IfATE.
- • information about the assessments including grade descriptors, example multiple choice and professional discussion questions, how the practical observation will be carried out; and forms to support the EPA process.
These guidance documents are available to all customers who have signed agreements with us through our online management system, Odyssey.
